yesterday was my sis' bf birthday. in the afternoon, my sis brought me and her bf to T2 to have lunch at Sakae Sushi. i shall admit that im very unfamiliar with the things in the restaurant as i can say it's my first time in there. ate a lot of sushis, chawanmushi for each of us and a soup.

after eating at sakae, then i brought my laptop to my sis' bf house. such a long time since i've been there. what's the motive? of cuz it's to play world of warcraft with them.

played for a round of battleground and we went to dine out with his parents and his brother. there's crab, tofu and vegetable. i didnt eat crab though as i know i DONT KNOW HOW TO, lol. i ate once only but still wasn't familiar how to.

back to his home after the dinner and continued playing for a round of battleground. after that battleground, started to celebrate his birthday. my sis bought for him a tiramitsu cake from coffee bean. i ate a rather big piece and i must say it's nice. there's KFC food too.

that's about it. we continued playing together till 10pm and went back to my own home and CONTINUED PLAYING. haha.

went to SP yesterday to do self-certification for my laptop. we reached there at 8:30am as my dad brought me, zhihao and guanyu to SP. we waited for the self-certification program to start at 9am outside the room@T4. while waiting, we ate peanuts which guanyu brought.

at 9am, we went into the room and started the self-certification. while in progress, there were A LOT and A LOT OF PROBLEMs, especially with these Aspire 5920G series (or Acer laptops).

the installation of windows xp requires me to remove my splitted partition which is the DATA drive. i have lots of files (maybe, about 9GB) in there and have to back it up. luckily guanyu brought his external HDD if not all of that 9GB would be gone. the backup took like 30mins. zhihao and guanyu already started the installation while i was still backing up files.

ok first set of problem is that the ACRONIS IMAGE recovery was a pain. we have to swap between disc 1 and disc 2 of the windows xp disc 12 TIMES to be able to get the recovery(installation) started. once started and it reached about 65% of the installation, all 3 of us got the same problem and which is saying that the disc 1 of the windows xp disc is corrupted. we switched the disc with the supervisor for like 3 - 4 times before we eventually got a working disc. sick!

in the end, the installation continued and guanyu's windows xp was able to boot while mine and zhihao's aint able to. the people(or students) around tried many crappy stuffs and it's all those which i really hate to deal with and that is partitioning of hard disk. they used the GPart Linux partition editor and all sorts of program that is unknown to me. i felt the ache in my heart.

suddenly a pro came and told us that the acer laptops with the Arcade Deluxe is the problem, he removed the partition which was hidden as the Arcade OS and then reinstalled windows xp. the windows xp was able to boot after that. wow. before that he also dealed with the file system using WINDOWS 98 TOOLs. everything was okay once he came BUT one problem occured. it's not really a problem but it's a rather irritating message on my laptop.

the message states that: "Warning: unrecognized partitional table for drive 80. Please rebuiled it using a Microsoft-compatible FDISK tool. (err=8)." hell.. this message appeared for like 10 times in the boot loader (GRUB4DOS). looked for solutions for about 5hours and to no avail. SIGH.

after that we went to guanyu's house which peiwen and darren joined in too. darren wanted sims 2 and some other games while peiwen too wants the same thing. and also, guanyu showed me Assassin's Creed and also the global conquest of Kane's Wrath.

we went to his house just to play, fix, install. lol.

ok, it seems that Command and Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath finishes downloading before i get my 8800GT. this is really pissing me off.

anyways, this isn't really an expansion and it's sort of separate from the original game it needs original CnC3 to play.

well, yesterday went to sim lim square to help one of my cousin to buy a new comp. they were like using pentium 2 computer ever since..

bought a rather average specs comp at $1027 with monitor@$299. then went to their house to build the comp. i think my hands were quite good already and i was able to finish building all the parts into the case without much problem. switched on the newly built comp and tried to install VISTA. ok, here's the headache problem, the vista installation wouldn't continue right after the boot, it just stuck there(and i thought it was normal). after so many failed tries, my dad suggest that we bring the CPU home so i can fix it without much hassle. after all the trial and error, i realized it's their DVD-ROM problem. as usual, a SATA DVD-ROM will cause a lot of problem.

so today we back to sim lim square to exchange for a new one and got an IDE interface one instead. brought to their home to refix again and in the end everything's working. FINALLY, at least it is completed in just 2 days.

P.S.: the gigabyte casing is eye-candy, at least to me and THE MONITOR TOO. didnt take a pic though BUT should be able to see half of it from the pic below.



then today evening, went to airport with my dad so as to 'fetch' my mom off from her work. but our motive was to eat there. walked around and realized there's nothing much to see so i and my dad went to T1 viewing mall to let the time pass while i was busy taking pictures and my dad busy with his WiFi phone, browsing internet ...

my mom was released from work at 10:30pm, then we went to swensen at T2 as i was really craving for baked rice. my dad ordered a mango sundae and we shared and i ordered chicken baked rice. mmhmmm, the taste, my favourite! lol =P.

sigh. there's a sudden need for me to play all the games i've left it with dust like world of warcraft, command and conquer 3, sims 2 (FreeTime - yea, haven't played this expansion fully). and this need have been ON for the past 2 weeks.

again, i was wishing that my 8800GT could be back on the 19th but now it's 22nd and i still haven't received back my precious graphic card. (due to election in TAIWAN??)

even though i have a laptop with good specs, i don't really play games on laptop as it is more likely for work purposes. well, i still play games on it though, but not for long period of time.

so now im downloading Kane's Wrath expansion for CnC3 and im wondering if my 8800GT will be back before this 8GB game finishes downloading..?

also, i have to say that 8500GT is pissing me off! performance is really bad for world of warcraft.

P.S.: this 64-bit VISTA SP1 is rather fast.(well i dont know it's due to SP1 or the x64 architecture) everything's speedy but still this SLOW AMD PROCESSOR is killing all the speed esp in loadings, slow cache means slow cache..

ah yes. forgot to say that i've read about sims 3! and the game seems so much better than sims 2. also by looking at the features, it's like SPORE integrated sims game.

hopefully the final game in 2009 will be extremely nice.

yesterday installed windows server 2008 onto this desktop and converted into workstation (meaning from server -> vista) and im rather impressed by the performance compared to normal vista. but still, there's some hiccups as most of the things im used to vista aint there.

then installed 64-bit VISTA SP1 and tried to crack this thing without the boot loader as stated by someone in a forum. tried once but failed then format again AND I FORMATTED 4 TIMES in A ROW as i keep trying to do the same thing! in the end i gave up and use the crack with that stupid loader as normal.

that's my life.. playing and configuring computers.

P.S.: my 8800GT hates me and it doesn't want me to own it. =(

anyways, it's 19th and i still wondering where the hell is my 8800GT graphic card.

yet again, formatted my desktop due to the impatient me as the windows startup (the moving bar with black screen) is always taking such a long time which seems very abnormal. but still it end up the same problem, without luck to fix this.

shall make this short and simple.

me, zhihao, darren and peiwen went to Singapore Poly to do our enrolment. 4 out of 6 stations requires queue number. hmm, rather organized. took photo there for student admission pass(the photo looked sucky due to my unnatural smile, hopefully i can get over it haha.) we are able to get the card immediately. halfway through, i had a stomachache outbreak. ARGH! oh yea, beared with it and after a while it's gone.

then went to PSA building where zhihao and darren wanted to apply the scholarship scheme. long briefing, almost fell asleep. took some pictures of the landscape there and it's from the 17th storey.

anyways, for the headache thing is that next week 25th i have to go back SP again for notebook PC matters, SIGH. every one week i have to go back SP once. after the notebook matters, 1 week later it's orientation and the week after it's start of school. it seems that there's no more resting period anymore.

also got the EEE pamphelt and there's class-by-class schedule, yet i was wondering where and how can i know which class am i in? (hopefully the EEE section reply me asap!!) oh my goodness! STRESS!

went to EAPLAY08 @ Marina Square with guanyu today. we went there and immediately we found 2 empty seats for CNC3 Kane's Wrath. aren't we that lucky? i mean we dont need to wait for so long for our turn. =P

started playing campaign mode at easy difficulty - haha im a noob. i can say that the campaign levels are interesting and the new faction and new units are superb. never really tried out the new units though as i played campaign all the way, solely on NOD faction plus they do not have new units.

we played for 1 and a half hour i think. then we walked around the atrium and then tried SPORES(just creating character). it's rather time consuming just to create a character.

then off i went to simlim square alone. walked so quickly and like one who rushes just to look at prices of RAZER KRAIT. in the end it seems that $45 is the lowest and i bought it at $42. the cashier seems to have sucky attitude cuz when i said if can sell at $40, there's no respond. omg.

in the morning, i was like nothing better to do and feeling that our internet is slow, i went to RESET the 2WIRE modem and i didn't realized that the phone is not able to use in the end as i dont know the authentication password and username. oh well, i think forget it and i just headed out. being late for the meeting at kembangan, i need to head to vivo to find them.

i shall try to cut short for my blog. basically i reached there, find them and bought the movie tickets. then also went into challenger to look at how much the razer mouse are selling at.

after buying the tickets, we went to eat and i ate chicken spaghetti with mashed potato at $6.40.
very full and also a bit of nausea feeling as i didnt had breakfast. we also went to giant after that to find some drinks. guan yu reached vivo after from his enrolment and then we went to giant again to buy tidbits.

head into cinema and we watched "RULE #1", HORROR. ok, this show is rather twisting at the end but i shall not spoil for some who haven't watch. the volume in the cinema was rather loud and it's killing me. as i know my senses are rather sensitive, a sudden loud sound can make me jump and i can't bear but to hold my face and cover one of my ear. lol. anyways, for this movie - the bad guy(serial killer) wins. zzzz.

oh ya, we went back to school to obtain our O level cert too.

anyways, we have no where better to go, so we decided to head to guan yu's house to have a mahjong session. i played too and i won 3 rounds i think.


P.S.: just saw a rather low temperature of the surroundings at 22°C on my windows vista weatherbug monitor.!!

due to which i woke up rather early on monday and sleeping at at 3am as usual, today's one of the day which i can't woke up at 11am.

ok, so i woke up at 1pm today but still i felt the laze on me and my body doesn't seem to have finish resting. then i continued to sleep and this is where i get my MINOR nightmare.(or daymare, lol) for this 'nightmare', it seems damn, VERY damn real and this is why i remember it so well, all my 5 senses seems to be transferred into that dream.

it starts off with me looking at my brother playing computer games, then i felt like playing, like i was a young boy. i know the game is some sort of sports car racing, and i played till so nervous that i actually lost the race. doesn't sound like a nightmare does it? but here's the rather worse part.

i wanted to head downstairs to get something to eat. nevertheless, in my dreams, the lift aren't upgraded! and i felt something is wrong. changed my mind and i head back home to find something to eat instead. when i go into the kitchen, it doesn't seem to me that it's the home im living in. and suddenly i felt eager to go to the toilet and i headed to the master's bathroom.

THE WHOLE SCENE OF THAT BATHROOM IS GROSS AND I DONT WANNA DESCRIBE IT. i eventually have the fear with the thought of 'ok, im not stuck here am i?' and also what date is it in my dreams and it seems i know only the year which is 2007. WEIRD DREAM! then i woke up and the time is 2pm, 1 hour of nightmare. i think my fear woke me up. whew. i dont wanna live in that place! and it seems like i have dreamt of the destructed past. hmm.

I am sorry to say that you need to go through the self certification process to install windows XP (dual boot with Vista) on your notebook.

This is becasue there are still some appications used in your course still not vista ready yet. Besides this your notebook would also need to join domain in-order for the wireless to work.

went to zhihao's house for the whole day today just to tweak his laptop like mine. brought some games for him too.

i brought my laptop to his house too and before that i have a lot of difficulties in bringing as i do not really have a proper bag to keep it in. dont wanna say much.

reaching his house, all i did is to help to clean his desktop, set up his new printer and everything that is IT-related . . lol

BOUGHT NEW LAPTOP today from IT SHOW 2008. model is ACER 5920G-602. i find this laptop is one of the superb ones. well the price is $1998 but my dad managed to bargain at the price of $1900.

anyways, here's how my day goes. woke up damn early(maybe not, haha) in the morning, at 8AM.. and around 9AM, i and my dad went to standard chartered bank to pay my Singapore Poly's fee + withdrawing for laptop. so when the fees are paid, i felt relaxed as another thing is done.

then next place to go is SATA, the clinic for us. but first, fairuz said he is going there too but he don't know how to head there, so we went to pick him up and headed there.

upon reaching SATA, it's arrows we see, picked up queue and immediately started the process. height and weight, urine test, blood pressure test, eye test and X-RAY. well the X-ray is one of the process that is rather funny. the whole X-RAY process took less than 20 seconds which i didn't expect it to be. everything for $22 then fairuz borrowed from me $10.

after the medical checkup. it's another thing DONE. woot. ok then it's spin off to IT SHOW at suntec. and ok, IT'S BLOODY CROWDED. AND THE FLOW IS DAMNNNN SLOW. PISSES ME OFF ALRITE. ok, at least 1pm aint so bad. i and my dad then immediately choing to the acer booth. then a girl named melissa attend to us, harvey norman's promoter.

ok, at first sight i went hmm.. first she asked me if im looking for a gaming laptop. then i said it's for poly use. ok, of cuz a COMPUTER will surely contain ENTERTAINMENT like GAMEs, videos and music. whose dont? then melissa explains how good the laptop is. of cuz, i've decided and look onto that model, she also showed us a few of the free gifts like PRINTER, THUMBDRIVE, COOLER, MOUSE. so my dad then tries to bargain at a cheaper price. my dad said $298 off for us, which means $1700 but that is like CMI. then i asked what about $198 off, then she considers and then my dad says make it cheaper la. she then went to ask the boss and i looked into the WMI of that laptop's windows vista. and the scores are wow, no prob!.

then she came back with some offers for us and they are $1800 without any free gifts, $1850 with 2 gifts and $1900 with everything. OF CUZ WE GO FOR THE $1900. lol. and that's it. purchased! i must thank my dad this time. haha.

ok, then we went to the back to get our stuffs. this is also where a lot of weird switch of lucks came. they told us that THE FREE PRINTER (3-in-1) WAS THE LAST STOCK. it's Epson, my favourite brand for printers. and i felt like omg, are we that lucky? in the first place, i asked my dad if he wants to walk around first before purchasing but since it's totally crowded i think it's best to just buy immediately and we came with this good LAST STOCK free gift. yea, and this printer just came in time to let me photocopy my documents for Singapore Poly, man i can't believe if this is planned. last stock - epson my fav - 3-in-1 - lets me photocopy. see this smooth chain? it's like wooh. then we left the printer alone first and went to walk while im carrying my laptop. STILL no mood to walk and then we head back and get our printer, and off we go home.

i thought it was all well everything is able to use. but somehow some lucks aint stable. while setting up my laptop, i took out the cooler and realized that the USB CABLE IS MISSING. unpacked the printer too and realized that the USB CABLE is separated and needed to buy. at this point of time, i was wondering - is this LUCK + FATE or is this a switch of luck? so, i continued setting up my laptop while telling my dad about it. then he went off to bring my mom to work. and he came back again and to bring me back to suntec to get a proper cooling pad WITH USB CABLE.

of cuz, i went to acer booth to find melissa but to no avail. so i went to the back to the booth to find someone else to ask about it. nevertheless, THERE'S QUITE A LONG QUEUE. i waited and waited and waited. and many rubbish had to be cleared, which means i looked behind and eventually saw melissa. and i told her about the missing cable. she asked, "u rushed here just for this?" then i nodded my head. and she also asked me if i were to choose epson or brother as the brand for printer and i said EPSON! lol.(the place was filled with brother branded printers instead after that last EPSON) everything's fine after she changed a pack for me and the cable's present. cant get the cable for printer though.

while i was trying to squeeze through the crowd, my dad called and asked me to buy a usb cable for the printer. i went OMG. by that time, im already on the first floor and then i have to squeeze back all up and the crowd's even larger at 3pm+. no choice, went back and bought one for $9.90.

oh ya, we also got free bottles of mineral water lol which was requested by my dad. friendly service! must thank her haha.

went home and everything's fixed. TWEAKED my laptop till it's best. 70+ processes became 40 processes. yey.

*wow my heart is crazy. why didnt i try to take pictures of anyone i seen? and can i just say that i have to go back suntec AGAIN is FATE? cuz i wished to see her again lol! im crazy lahh.

went to play pool today with zhihao, guanyu and liangwei. the game is still as usual and today i think my hands lost the touch on pool. everytime when i try to use strength to hit, it will either be that the white ball will go off course or my cue will go out of line.. sigh.

at around 3:30pm. liangwei went off and at 4pm, fairuz came. we then booked the 9ft. table and i must say that it's rather difficult to score with this table.

today we went to IT SHOW 2008@Suntec Convention. but before that we had our lunch at the pizza hut nearby. student meal for $8.50 with mushroom soup, pepsi and i ordered Hawaiian pizza. ok, i must say that the taste is crisp and it's very different from other outlets.

ok, the IT SHOW is as usual, everytime it's full of people and squeezy all over. basically we went there to look out for laptops for use in our poly education.

after so many turns, i decided that acer is the cheapest and hoping to get the model i want. yet again, the obstacle is my parents again - whether they accept or not. the price is $1,992.

then went to 6th floor to check out more things and also to see if there's any cheaper price of 2GB Memory-stick micro for my phone. i feel that my 1GB is running out of space. the price aint much of a difference from normal stores as it's selling at $40.. sigh. didnt buy of cuz.

hahaha.
