friday: is there even OOP class?

so with that I have looked forward to week 7. however with all the tests that exists on that week, I went to numb myself by playing all the games which I didn't complete.

games like Command and Conquer 4 which I completed with a bit of cheat on some campaigns (couldn't stand the fact that I am getting overwhelmed by units lol). rest are new games like Blur apart from Assassin's Creed 2.

for Blur, the game's quite alrite but it feels like the features aren't as much. it turns out to remind me of Revolt but in a more 3D sense. however, that game is challenging, way way challenging. also, I thought Assassin's Creed is a crappy game, but it turned out I was wrong. gonna play the first series when I've got time.

my adiddas shoe has it's front portion 'peeling' off and my bro's Brook shoe is killing my toe and feet after long usage.

so it seems that apparently I do not have much choice but got to wear my unglam adiddas shoe.

anyways yesterday after school went out to bugis, sim lim square as juin long wanted to get a portable hard disk while I was still considering to get a CM Hyper 212 Plus.

in the end, I did not hesistate and bought the cooler while juin long got his 640GB portable hard disk. not bad.

money really sucks, but it's the only crap thing which either heightens or lowers the standards of life. people like me who hates trouble but only want things that is in my mind, I will only keep that amount just as nice as much as possible. means it's neither too much nor too little. apparently for now it's a little bit lower than the value I need.

whatever.. let me cut the talk about money.

so after buying CM Hyper 212 Plus. zongda led us to a restaurant called V8. austin wanted to withdraw money and juinlong followed. they took like 20min. luckily the restaurant was showing cartoon mr. bean. retarded show but good enough to cut that boreness. lol.

I ordered Sambal Salmon with Rice. it comes with tom yam soup. the salmon is really really delicious and the sambal aint that bad either. pretty good impression.

after that we headed to mcdonald's at the corner beside bugis village. I basically sat there and literally doing nothing as I don't feel like spending any more money but just feel like going home. I didn't want to leave yet as I know I will give bad impression to them, I could possibly just leave if I couldn't be much bothered. so, I was so god damn filled with fatigue from the shoe and my bag was killing me because I put the cooler into my bag. it fits but it sure does make my bag looks squarish and hard to backpack.

good thing enough I took bus home, but the driver was driving real slow.. like 40KM/h or less maybe (it's the 3rd gear speed). then there's one passenger who came up and shouted, 驾快点了！！ yea, I know it's slow too and this is not the first time I encountered such shit. however, to my experience of long-term long rides on buses - I don't see much of a difference from speed when the route it takes has turns and turns with bus stops so near each other. so I was able to get a short nap from the bus ride and the journey took 30min - no difference at all.

reached home and started mounting the cooler on my cpu. didnt get to test last night but tested today. seems like it is able to get rid 10+ degrees celsius and I am happy enough.

omg driving was great today.
much of less problems with my changing of gears with coordination of clutch now.
previous problem of turning right seems to be reduced.

however, the problem now is hand over hand turning. cuz I kinda suck at it and I need to master this skill for my parking.

tampines is such a great place to be in sometimes.

oh good thing im immune to that oil leak smell that came from the seas due to the collision of ships. (BESIDES OUR HOUSE HERE IS DIRECTLY FACING THE SEA ON SOUTH)

mannn, 2 weeks more to MST with next week having all the lab tests and quizzes.
so far, everything is open book except OOP and WIRELESS NETWORKING.

maybe not so bad for OOP but for WIRELESS NETWORKING, I supposed it's a little difficult. configuring switches, vlan and trunking is something I don't seem to catch.

seriously, good luck to me, myself and I. hopefully I don't screw up any of the assessments. kinda afraid that my GPA would be slightly different this year.

I am leaving myself to my own brain to do all the work. it's my only 'friend' that is within me.

yes, unknowingly.. it felt like there's a need but it's not my will.

the stocks seems limited and heard that people are already queueing up 2hours before shops open. lol.

guess I'll have to wait maybe 2 weeks more to get one. or maybe with some better promo.

Tsuki no Koibito 月の恋人

a new jap drama - with all my favourites actors/actresses from LIARGAME, MR. BRAIN, BUZZER BEAT. wooh, the mix is ON.

this show is like nice as there's mix of languages. english, mandarin and jap are used in the show. and there's an actress who is purely taiwanese who actually speaks jap or both jap and mandarin in the show. a good way for me to continue learning my jap or motivation I should say.

there's only 2 episodes. the only crazy thing about this show is that THERE IS 1080p VERSION, HOLY SHIT.

I can feel that jap craze fever is back again. not good... but hopefully ok. usually shows are my value-trigger, somewhat, somehow.

week 5 and I am starting to lose my track and my values.
things starts to get a little hectic. maybe it's due to the speed of time or maybe it's due to the intoxication of my brain - I absolutely have no idea.

it's time I type something to wake myself up. I have been sitting in front of the computer for the whole 5 weeks - be it athlon x2 with 8800gt or core i5 750 with 5770, it's still the same..
there's not much tutorials to do(talk about Wireless Networking), no self-assess(except OOP), no nothing on the school's blackboard, that feeling is really really odd and weird. I still prefer previous semester where there are actually more things to do with all thanks to Analog Systems.

anyways, with the time that pass, I am feeling a little bit stressed cause we haven't start on anything for our FYP. I really hope it's not a wrong choice to be in this course-wide FYP, like seriously. 4 credit units - like.... what?!

I am really hoping that someone could give me a head start on what to do for our part. maybe I am too used to following instructions - just as I expected, this will end up bad. okkkk yah, based on my connections I doubt anyone can give me a head start. so probably it's all up to us.

it's not just FYP that is the core as in 2 to 3 weeks time, there will be quizzes, lab tests and MST all packed into one. crappy. I do hope I've learnt something.

time to rush all practicals and labs all on my own just for the practice sake.

this morning at 11am, I went to check my account balance but my money is still under the ledger balance.

this sucks because it means that I could not buy my 5770 that soon.

so this afternoon I couldn't care much and went out with mum and dad as mum's heading to work. went to check my account balance again and IT IS STILL UNDER THE LEDGER BALANCE. argh! however, my mum offered me that I could use her money first.

and yay, this means that I can buy the graphic card today.

so my dad brought me to sim lim square and I went to get some price list - bell, pc themes and best prices. upon seeking out the prices I saw a few cheaper 5770s like sapphire's and HIS. oh, I wanted to get the MSI R5770 HAWK.

once I saw the cheaper ones, I went into a confused state. I was wondering which brand should I buy - sapphire, MSI or HIS. sapphire one is at $247, HIS is at $253 and MSI HAWK at $264. look at those weird increase in price.

so I tried to connect to wireless - which apparently many failed. I went up to 6th floor and stayed outside mediamart to use their wireless (thanks to adrian I have their wireless key). I checked the review on sapphire's and it seems that the fan noise is pretty high - and this ruled out the choice and left with MSI or HIS.

I went on to compare with this two brands. I was looking into the temperature and fan noise as my old 8800GT was such a prick, making so much HIGH FREQUENCY noise with 100% fan speed and the temps are still freaking high.

apparently after looking at the reviews hard enough, both of them seems to have the same temps and fan noise level. so I bought HIS in the end.

good enough, it seems that the temperature are even better than I expected. without OCing the load temps were at 67 degree celsius and idling at 46 degree celsius. with OC, the load temps can go up to 73 which causes artifact. =\

crysis warhead had a 20FPS improvements from previous settings used for 8800GT. with 2x AA, there's about 13FPS hit and that makes 7FPS improvement. should be good for now until 2 years later. lol.

and what happens after I bought my card is all posted in my private blog. heh heh heh.

aint maintainence supposed to lengthen the life of something?

why is it that for me, anything that I did some maintainence to it end up dead in the end.

take for example my old motherboard GA-M55SLI-S4.. the dusts were somewhat annoying and I took a dust-sucker cloth to clean them.
next thing I know it's dead within less than a day.

so, same goes for today on my 2years old 8800gt. everytime when I play games, the stupid fan spins up to 100% and the noise is irritating. I removed the cooler and cleaned the crap - thermal grease and dusts.

it booted fine at first - as usual. then I played borderlands, and while playing half way the screen  blacked out so I thought maybe it's the overclock of my CPU. resetted the comp and it was fine still. started borderlands again and I went afk. I came back and I saw the screen went black again and this is where my 8800gt went dead.

I thought there might be some short-circuit due to the cleaning but apparently not.
I just hate it when my comp auto-resets due to something bad/faulty.

seems like some durability has been lost quite a bit on this new comp of mine.

again, this is where the weird fate is. everytime I receive my pay, some of the things that I own will turn out dead. like the money I got has to be spent no matter what. can't I just save those fucking money omg..

I am using my dad's 9600GT in the meantime before the motherboard comes back. seems like I can't play much graphic-hungry games for now.

had a great day today. went out with peiwen, guanyu, zhihao and gerald to marina barrage to picnic and fly kite.

basically, I went there only to eat and to my surprise there's Wireless@SG there.. okay, maybe not much of a surprise since it's pretty much a building by PUB.

anyways we went into the gallery to read all about the barrage. pretty cool mechanism there.
then we went to the green roof to do all our things - eat, fly kite and take photos.

during the evening, went out for dinner with my family to celebrate mothers' day. it was a filling meal and the last gulp of one-shot at the beer (not so much) makes me wanna puke since my stomach was filled with lots of air already.

walked around to burp all out the gases and felt better.
gotten some minor recreational at the nearby playground and there home is waiting for us.

oh sigh, the omnia 2 community at modaco is failing much now.
or maybe samsung is failing on the support of this phone.

I have been using a taiwan chinese ROM on my omnia 2 for months already.
I've seen quite a few new releases of ROM on modaco and there are also WM6.5.3 ROMs.
last night I decided to flash to a ROM that runs WM6.5.3 - version I8000NXXJD1.

yes, flashing is fine and end up I got an increase in total RAM but what lies behind is something real bad.

as you know I'd love japanese input everywhere - on computers and also my phone. so the first thing I always do is to install the fonts including Meiryo. I thought everything was fine at first. once I installed the japanese input, I realized that I couldn't select the font for the program to use cause it's not in the drop-down list.
never mind, I went on and installed an alternate japanese keyboard - works fine.

when all was well, I installed google maps and found out that the fonts were kinda screwed up. some letters were rotated 90 degree anti-clockwise, lol. I went on to check the dictionaries and the same thing as well. I was like FUCK, STUPID BUG. just by copying the fonts to \windows\fonts makes the default font to what I've copied inside and this weren't happening in the old ROMs/OS.

I have no idea whether is it due to the OS version or something's fucked up in the registry.

I have already flashed my phone like 6 times or more in a row already and still counting, until I find a proper rom.. shit what have I got myself into.

time to change phone + OS.

school's as usual at the stupid timing of 3pm again for today.

I've realized that I couldn't catch up on stuff easily or am I doing something wrong here..

anyways it's hell of a coincidence for when I was heading home.
as usual I took bus 14 home. I was napping throughout as I couldn't be bothered much about any sights since it was rather late already.

then while napping I've realized my head was hitting against the window glass but there's no feeling at all. blardy hell sitting at the right side of the bus is seriously suck for napping.
anyways then I woke up at the bus stop near the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station.

this is the best part. I saw my mom came up the bus. 
yea, this is one ultimate coincidence for me. (maybe it might be common for some people). well, for someone like me who takes bus 14 most of the time and for this one time where my mom went out and took bus 14 too - I've managed to see her on the same bus on my way home. lmao. SBS 7472 M - noted.

oh what else that is coincidence is I woke up at that very stop.

installed a 120mm fan with green led that saturday and now to post a photo on it .. a nicer and cleaner rig this time.

today is a great and also grand day.

woke up early 7am to head to (actually) airport to meet my long time no seen friend - zhi hao.
it's been a year, like 12 months.

ok so basically everyone who was supposed to meet at tanah merah was late. ended up we were asked to go zhihao's house to meet him.

then we went his house to chit chat. it's really no ending conversations and zhihao was showing all of the photos he took during his time on the ship.

chat and snack till about 1pm and we went down to get lunch. was pretty undecided where to go at first then end up chose eatzi restaurant at eastpoint. had the grilled boneless chicken which is main course for sunday. conversations are pretty much non ending.

after lunch it was 3pm. still kinda early and gerald has to have his erhu class at 4:30pm. we decided to watch IP Man 2 but we have to buy a ticket with a time slot that gerald could make it. and it is 6:10pm.

while waiting for time to pass, we walked around and show zhihao what was new in SG. well, he of cause didnt know that tampines one was up and robust now. so, now he knew.

sort of nothing much to describe here.

so at 6:10pm we watched IP Man 2. quote from my fb status : "IP Man 2 is awesomely awsome. すごい！it has the same awesomeness as in the first IP Man." this basically describe how I felt for the movie. very less talking this time and much more action.
